Travel
It is assumed that you arrive on Monday before lunch before 12:45 and leave on Friday after 12:30. There will be the option to have lunch packages for the departure. If you plan to deviate from this schedule, please contact the organizers.
- The closest international airport is Munich (MUC): https://www.munich-airport.com/
- Alternatively, you may consider landing at Frankfurt International airport (FRA), and take an ICE train to Munich (~3h40)
- There are regular train services from Munich Airport to Munich Central Station. The most direct way is through S-bahn trains S1 and S8 lines. The travel time is around 40 minutes.
- The closest train station to Ringberg is Tegernsee, which can be reached from Munich Central Station through regional (BOB) train RB 57: https://www.brb.de/en/fahrplaene/linienuebersicht-fahrplaene/line/rb-57. The travel time is around 1 hour.
- There are taxis available from Tegernsee station for transport to Ringberg (around 7 km). Unfortunately, there is no public transport from Tegernsee station to Ringberg castle. Note that taxis from the train station to the castle only accept cash.
- If there is too much snow, taxis may not be able to drive up to the parking lot right next to the castle.
- We will organize group taxis closer to the conference date!
- Winter equipment is highly recommended for the driveway. Depending on the snow conditions, you may need snow chains or a four-wheel drive vehicle.
- Guests can also use the lower winter car park (enter Schlossstraße, turn right after approx. 50 m) - park the vehicle there and take a taxi up. For a better understanding, see the YouTube video
