The thermal phases of the ISM

I will discuss the HI thermal phase structures of the ISM from high to low metallicity focusing on the behavior of the cold and warm neutral medium (CNM/WNM) and the multiphase CNM-WNM. The temperature of the ISM and its multiphase structure may play a key role in regulating the start formation in galaxies. As I will show, at very low metallically there multiphase phenomena disappears owning to H2 cooling and H2 heating processes.
