2. October 2020: Camille's first paper "How planetary gas accretion changes the shape and depth of gaps in protoplanetary discs" is online on astro-ph. Using 2D isothermal simulations she finds that including gas accretion self consistently in simulations can change the final planets mass by up to a factor of 2 when the planet opens a deep gap.

25. September 2020: Our new paper on "The eccentricity distribution of giant planets and their relation to super-Earths in the pebble accretion scenario" is on astro-ph. We find that scattering events can explain the eccentricity distribution of giant planets, but that these scattering events destroy inner super-Earth systems. To match the super-Earth - cold-Jupiter relation reported in the literature, the cold Jupiters would need to be mostly on circular orbits. Work with Trifon Trifonov and Andre Izidoro.

29. May 2020: Sofia's first paper on the "Influence of grain growth on the thermal structure of protoplanetary discs" is online on astro-ph. These are the first 2D disc simulations that combine evolving grain size distributions with viscous and stellar heating as well as radiative cooling to calculate the structure of protoplanetary discs.

15. April 2020: 3 new Bachelor students (Romy Gabriel, Leon Hühn, Jonas Müller) have joined the research group.

2. April 2020: Thomas Baumann's paper on "Influence of migration models and thermal torque on planetary growth in the pebble accretion scenario" got accepted by A&A and is available on astro-ph.

21. November 2019: Our new paper on astro-ph: Here we study the influence of different stellar compositions on the solid building blocks of planets. In particular an increased C/O ratio leads to less water ice, which could change the way we think about planet formation. Work with Chiara Battistini from the LSW in Heidelberg.

1. November 2019: Vincent Mader has started his Bachelor thesis within my research group.

1. November 2019: Dr. Gabriele Pichierri has joined the research group.

1. October 2019: Aaron Schneider has started his Master thesis within my research group.

9-13. September 2019: Ringberg workshop on Discs2planets

23. August 2019: New paper on how the pebble isolation mass shapes the masses of inner hot super-Earths on astro-ph.

15. April 2019: Thomas Baumann has started his Bachelor thesis.

6. March 2019: New paper accepted on how the migration pathway of planets can influence their water ice fraction in the pebble accretion scenario. Work with Sean Raymond from Bordeaux and Andre Izidoro from Sao Paolo.

23. February 2019: BIG DAY for PAMDORA: We have submitted 3 papers on astro-ph today. We study how the pebble flux regulates the formation of terrestrial planets and super-Earths, how systems of super-Earths emerge from chains of resonant systems and how systems of giant planets are formed. These three papers give a systematic overview how planetary systems form in the pebble accretion scenario within N-body simulations. Work with Sean Raymond, Andre Izidoro, Anders Johansen, Michiel Lambrechts, Alessandro Morbidelli and Seth Jacobson.

1. October 2018: Sofia Savvidou has joined the research group.

1. October 2018: Camille Bergez-Casalou has joined the research group.
