Arriving at the airport
Proceed to the S-Bahn (city railway) station below the central area of the terminal following the S-signs.
You can take S1 or S8 to Munich main station and to the city centre (Marienplatz).

Tickets
Tickets have to be purchased in advance both for the connection to downtown Munich as well as to Tegernsee.
There are separate ticket vending machines for connections within Munich (city railway, subway, buses and trams) and for trains.
If you need both, local transportation and railway to Tegernsee, you can buy one ticket at the vending machine of the Deutsche Bahn.

Stamping tickets?
Stamp boxes are at the entrance to subways or inside buses and trams.
Local tickets need to be stamped at one of the blue endorsing machines you find close to the escalators, train tickets do not.

Trains split-up
Most of the trains to Tegernsee split-up on their journey and only one part of it will end-up there. Have a look a the labels on the cars or ask the friendly conductor.

Cap up to Ringberg
When you finally made it to Tegernsee railway station, take a cab, which will take you the last miles to Ringberg Castle.
