Massive Star Formation

Henrik Beuther
MPIA, Heidelberg, DE
This review will focus on progress in the field of high-mass star formation since the last EPOS meeting. Starting with a short overview about recent theory work, I will then present observational results from large to small spatial scales. Starting with results from different Galactic plane surveys outlining the distribution of high-mass star-forming regions within our Galaxy, I will step into the physical processes and discuss Herschel (and SOFIA?) and other single-dish results. Going to smaller scales, recent interferometric studies, and hopefully first ALMA results in that field will be presented. I will conclude with open questions to be addressed in the coming years
