Triggered Star Formation in W5

We present early results from our combined Spitzer/ground based infrared survey of the 2x2 degree W5 star forming region in Perseus. The region shows many embedded sources in the cloud-HII region interfaces that are bright at 24 microns - strongly indicative of triggered star formation occurring in these locations. We have surveyed small clusters within the field with ground based JH and K photometry, and further plan to use infrared and optical spectroscopy to constrain the young stellar populations by their mass distributions and disk material. Here we present the first results of this survey, combining the near-IR and 24 micron photometry to investigate the distribution of protostars across this region.
