Formation of molecular clouds and star clusters Lee Hartmann Univ. of Michigan City, Ann Arbor, MI, USA
It has become clear that molecular cloud formation in the stellar neighborhood is rapid and dynamic. I will discuss some of the major issues involved in cloud formation, and discuss a broad scenario for the formation of star clusters, with specific application to the Orion Nebula Cluster, for which we now have very interesting evidence of substructure and infall from stellar radial velocities.
