The dust disc with solar system size and spiral structure
around of Herbig Ae Star HD169142

We present subarcsecond 7 mm continuum observations and detailed modeling of the disk surrounding the nearby Herbig AeBe star HD 169142. The disk morphology is well resolved in our Very Large Array (VLA) observations, and the spatial intensity profile provides an additional constraint to the SED modeling parameters. A disk whose grains in the mid-plane have grown up to centimeter sizes is required to fit both observational constraints. The 7 mm image reveals a spiral pattern which might be originated by the gravitational pull of a planetary or substellar binary companion. HD 169142 is one of the few examples where a spiral pattern has been detected in the millimeter range. | |
