Physical properties and evolution of protostellar jets in the NIR

Protostellar jets represent an important clue of star formation activity and a powerful tool to understand the evolution of the circum-stellar medium and of the protostar itself. In this talk I will present an in-depth near-IR (NIR) analysis of a sample of H2 jets from young embedded sources deriving and comparing the physical, kinematical properties and cooling mechanisms of the different flows. For such an analysis, narrow band images, low and high resolution spectra will be used. I will also correlate the outflow parameters with those of the exciting source, in order to derive an evolutionary trend for the young stellar objects.
