Chemical properties of young massive star-forming regions

Henrik Beuther

Hot molecular cores and young high-mass star-forming regions are well known laboratories of an extremely rich chemistry. One of the so-far unkept promises of astrophysical chemistry is the establishment of chemical clocks. Most observational chemical inventories are based on single-dish studies averaging the properties over the whole region. In contrast, recent (sub)mm interferometric studies of selected young massive star-forming regions showed the spatial differentiation and complexity between various molecular species. Here, I will present the current stage of observational high-spatial-resolution investigations of the chemical properties in high-mass star-forming cores. Problems and promises of current and futures studies will be discussed.
