Phases of the ISM - MPIA Summer Conference 2013

The Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) is happy to announce the 2nd annual MPIA summer conference, titled Phases of the ISM. This 4 day conference will take place July 29^th - August 1^st, 2013, at the Haus der Astronomie in Heidelberg, Germany.

This meeting will summarize our current understanding of the ISM phases in the Milky Way, how we expect these phases to vary across different galaxy types, and how we can use and disentangle observational tracers like the [CII]158 μm or HI lines that arise from the various ISM phases. We plan to have a mix of theoretical and observational talks, and link the Galactic and extragalactic communities.
