About me
I am an astronomer and currently work as a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Germany. My research is focused on the formation and evolution of galaxies from the early universe to the present day.
Most of my work revolves around understanding the physics of star formation and the interstellar gas inside galaxies. To study these galaxies, I use observations from large telescopes around the world and in space, such as the MUSE instrument on the Very Large Telescope, the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) and the Hubble Space Telescope.
My PhD Thesis (2021) focuses on the study of cold gas, the fuel for star formation , inside distant galaxies, in particular in the iconic Hubble Ultra Deep Field. The main thrust behind this work has been the ALMA Spectroscopic Survey of the HUDF (ASPECS), a large program with ALMA that provides a unique census of the cosmic cold gas and dust content of galaxies.
