YETI - Search for young transiting Planetin Trumpler 37

Abstract:
We found two transiting candidates during our monitoring campaign of the 4 Myr young cluster Trumpler 37 with the YETI network (Young Exoplanet Transit Initiative). The network consists of ground based telescopes with mirror sizes of 0.4 to 2m, located at different longitudes all over the world, makes it possible to observe continuously. To confirm the planetary nature of the candidates, we ruled out blended eclipsing binaries with high resolution imaging. This was done with the Subaru telescope. We obtained low resolution spectra to check for Lithium absorption as indicator for young ages. With radial velocity variations from medium and high resolution spectra, together with inclination from the transit we were able to measure the true mass of the companion. The first candidate turned out to be a binary star with late-type companion, while for the second candidate observation for radial velocity have still to be done. With an improved algorithm for transit search, we will probably find some more candidates in the Trumpler 37 cluster.
