I currently work as a post-doc at the MPIA in Heidelberg. I am a member of the group 'Galaxy Formation in a Dark Universe' led by Andrea Macciò.

My broad research interest is understanding the formation and evolution of galaxies across cosmic time. For this purpose I use ``zoom-in'' simulations of galaxies in a cosmological context. Specifically, I am developing statistical robust methods to define the various components of simulated galaxies, and use the output of these methods to study the evolution of galactic structures like disks and spheroids. Decompositions like these could make more detailed comparisons between simulations and observations than have ever been made before. This dialogue between simulations and observations is fundamental to constrain galaxy formation models.
I am also interested in implementations of more realistic sub-grid recipes in simulation codes.
