mask=miamask(f)
crashes on MacOS X 10.6.2, IDL 7.0.2 -- this is not fixed yet; it might have to do with the fact that OS X 10.6 has 64-bit support. Workaround: Compile MIA+EWS on an older version of Mac OS X (e.g. 10.5.8) and transfer the binaries to your 10.6 system.
f=midigui(f)
crashes on MacOS X 10.6.2, IDL 7.0.2 and on Christian Hummel's computer (setup?) -- this is fixed in the Nov 20 snapshot!
Why are the yellow lines curved for PRISM data in miamask? The curved lines show the regions that are used for background estimation. They have formerly been displayed by straight lines that were fixed at certain positions. Since the MIDI spectrum is moving on the detector the code needed to be updated to account for the shift in the position of the spectrum on the detector. The yellow curved lines should now always lie with equal distance above and below the spectrum.
On this occasion the code was also updated to take into account the fact that GRISM spectra are curved (see 'curve reference file'). Although the PRISM spectrum is not curved, it uses the same code and therefore there are these curved lines. Anyhow, the new code is not used in the EWS but only in the MIA part of MIA+EWS since MIA uses a slightly different version of midiUtiliites.pro (namely utilities.pro) (??)
